Distribute numeric room/space values

When copying room/space data to contained elements, we sometimes want to evenly distribute the parameter value of the room/space to each element it contains. For example, you may want to:

  • Detect all supply air terminals in the space below,
  • Get the space’s specified supply flow,
  • Divide that value by the number of detected air terminals,
  • Write the result to each supply air terminal within the space.

This is easily done with RV RoomLink. Here’s one setup that does the job:

Note that we also need to differentiate between supply and return air terminals. To do that, use RV RoomLink’s custom filters input as we explained further here.

Of course, you’re not limited to just air flows! The Distribute Value feature works with all numeric parameters, such as Length, Area, Luminance, and similar. Non-numeric parameters, like Text or Yes/No properties, will be ignored. Their values will still be transferred as usual, just not divided and distributed, even if you check the highlighted box above.
