Use location projection on level
It’s sometimes not possible or practical to ensure the elements you want to update actually sit inside the volume of a room or space. For example, MEP objects like ducts/pipes and connected accessories often sit above the ceiling of a room. If the room comes from a Revit link, such as an Architecture model, extending it beyond the ceiling to reach your MEP elements is often not possible.
To resolve this, you can tell RV RoomLink to add additional room/space check points based on the elements’ host levels. Once enabled, the app will:
- Get each element’s location point,
- Project that point onto the plane of its host level,
- Copy that points a few more times on that level plan based on your Guess Directions settings.
- Find the first room or space that contains one of these checkpoints.

To enable this feature, simply open the Sync Settings tab and tick the box for “Use location point projection on level”.
